For over 30 years, Daniel M. Pess has been a senior financial executive in public and private companies, in fast-paced, high growth industries. Pess has extensive experience in green technologies and software, and has driven three successful IPO's. Additionally, he has a proven track record in mergers and acquisitions to facilitate growth. As Chicken Soup for the Soul implements its digital strategy, Pess's technology and software company financial experience will facilitate his active role in its global strategy and related tactical initiatives and execution.
Pess joined Chicken Soup for the Soul in May 2012 and is responsible for all financial and administrative management. Pess was recently Chief Financial Officer and EVP of Certpoint Systems Inc., a provider of paper-free, Internet-based learning management and human capital management systems to Fortune 2000 companies. Pess was formerly Chief Financial Officer and EVP of USADATA, Inc., a SaaS provider of marketing leads on demand and was part of the management team that affected a leveraged buy-out of the company during a period of rapid growth. Prior to USADATA, Pess was Chief Financial Officer and SVP of White Amber, Inc., an environmentally friendly provider of human capital management solutions, during which time its revenues increased by five-fold, leading to its successful sale to a large public company. Prior to that he was the senior financial executive for a variety of public and private companies.
Pess is a Certified Public Accountant and began his career with a Big Four international accounting firm based in New York City. He graduated with high honors from the C.W. Post School of Professional Accountancy.
